We are the Marciano's - Deb & John. We have been working very hard for the last 3 + years trying to make our dream of owning and living in a log home come true...here's how we got to this point:

In October '01, we were married in a beautiful ceremony at the Walpack Inn in Wallpack, New Jersey and had the daunting task of figuring our where we wanted to live. After several weekends driving around, we fell upon a lovely little town in Orange County, New York called Warwick Township. But our job wasn't done. We still had to find land suitable for a home - our log home.

So one day in June of 2002, when John and his dad were driving through Warwick toward Greenwood Lake, they happened upon a "For Sale" sign adhered to a rock on the side of the road. Curious, they stopped and looked at the sign more closely. 9.67 acres for sale. John thought to himself that this is going to be WAY out of our price range given our experience thus far with trying to find land that we could afford. Well, his curiosity got the best of him and he called the number. A gentleman answered the phone and ended up meeting John on the property the following week. John was excited and was reluctant to ask the price because he knew (or he thought he knew) that it was going to be out of our price range. And it was. Disappointed, John called me and told me about it anyway.

I had mixed emotions about it since we were living with his parents in a VERY small basement apartment in Brooklyn and if we embarked on this piece of property it would mean that we would have to stay in Brooklyn for another year. Needless to say the thought made me very uneasy.

However, I went to see the land anyway and it truly was love at first sight. I couldn't have been happier. It's 9.5 acres of wooded uphill land with two ponds and the Appalachian Trail as our property line behind it. AND no one on either side...total seclusion....a far cry from Brooklyn!!! But I was torn. The thought of another year in Brooklyn made me unhappy. But it was simply too good a deal to pass up.

We closed on the land in January 2003!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
